Journalism with Mr. Geraño

JOURNALISM....!!

Journalism..This subject is not new to me because when I was in the 1st year, we also had this. Honestly, I am not that interested in Journalism so I find it kinda boring. 


But..Journalism this year is really something..!! Yeah, it is true..!! Our facilitator, Mr. Paul Vincent J. Geraño, will really wake up the sleeping lion inside you... He speaks good English that sometimes, when he explains things, I could no longer understand what he is saying. He wants things to be in order. 


During our first meeting, we let our guard down, we took things so lightly that we did not expect Mr. Geraño to be very serious when it comes to Journalism Class...Almost half of the class said that they are really afraid of him. I myself felt that way, too. We all think that Mr. Geraño was no fun..Imagine, every time we meet, it is expected that we will have our test on current events.. Poor me; I am not really interested when it comes to news.. But to be able to pass in this particular subject, I have to listen to the radio, watch news in the television and read news in the magazines and newspapers. 




Facts about Mr.Geraño....
He wants everything to be in order. It pisses him when things get messy anywhere. He was not born yesterday but rather, he was born ages ago so do not act nor expect that you know better than he does. He hates people who does not read their books. During his class, he does not want to see anyone yawning nor not sitting properly. It pisses him even more if you cannot answer his question and the fact is that the answer is found in the book then he would tell the whole class, "Do not look at me plainly. Answer!" and "Girls, hindi niyo ko pag paakiga kay ga saka gd ang bagangan sa ulo ko". If you still cannot answer his question(s), he will tell you "Even my one year old dog knows it..". And, oh, He likes and idolizes Mrs. Miriam Defensor Santiago. Every time he sees Mrs. Santiago, he would say, "Oh! She is my idol." He idolizes Mrs. Miriam Defensor Santiogo (according to what Mr. Geraño said) because, in a way, they have similarities--how fierce the both of them are!


What most of us think about Mr. Geraño....
You might think he is too harsh, well, that is "kinda" right. He is just being a little bit to us because that is how he teaches. Also because "He learned the hard way".


Even though it only lasts for 50 minutes, he makes sure that we have learned something like new words to widen our vocabulary. Not all the time he just discuss and lecture. There are some time that he would listen to the story of our lives. And the class would turn to be in perfect silence because no one of us would dare to start. 


Why we love Journalism & Mr. Geraño....
As time went by, we found out that our Journalism class is full of fun...fun...fun.. Yeah, you are right. It is because of games..!! But these games are educational games; these may be as hard and complicated as Math problems are yet these are also as fun and thrilling as our P.E Class is. We never expected that our Journalism class will be one of the most exciting class ever..!! All thanks to our facilitator, Mr. Geraño, for making our Tuesdays and Wednesdays afternoon  to be full of so much fun..!!

A Message For Myself

Dear Me, 
        Going to school early in the morning everyday and studying every night is VERY TIRESOME, right..? Augh.. How I wish Mondays are close to Fridays (throw away the Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays). Waking up early on Monday morning and the next day would probably be Friday..!! then Saturday, the next day  is Sunday then back to Monday again..When would this kind of routine happen in my life..?? What I am doing every night, causes my eyes to have black eyes.. my poor eyes.. :| 
         Anyway, there is always this person who would stay up late with my while I'm studying, accompanies me when I'm alone, let me sleep on his arm and guards me all day and night through.

Meet My Family

Hi..My post for today will be about my FAMILY..!!


First, my father. His name is Gilberto Tolledo Sr. y Ruto. He was born on May 10, 1972 at Manila City. He's currently working in Doha, Qatar an a Civil engineer.  My dad is kinda practical (may pagka 'kuripot') because he does not want to spend his money earned in just buying useless things like shoes, clothes, etc. He uses everything as long as they are still usable. He's fond of watching movies and playing his guitar. If he's in the house with us, he introduces new movies to us because we only watch movies that we've already watched. He's scary when his angry or problematic that's why every time he's in a bad mood, I don't go near him. I am a daddy's girl because I enjoy doing anything with him and not only that. I have a million reasons why I am a daddy's girl. He maybe scary at some time, but he's a the coolest daddy there ever was.!!

Second, my mother. Her name is Marissa Rivera-Tolledo. She was born on October 24, 1974. She is a native of Batangas City but when I turned 1 year old, they moved to Iloilo City, where we live now. She took good care of us. We often get into fight because I stand for my self. She gets easily piss off.

Next is my little brother.. Literally, not little because he's taller than me.. He is Gilberto R. Tolledo Jr. He was born on August 09, 1998. Well, i think I have nothing to say about him because most of the time we fight. But there's something good about him though. Even though he always pisses me, I cannot hide the fact that he's good in drawing. He also watches cartoon shows and anime. He dislike studying. He'd rather stop  going to school than to study but he couldn't..because of my dad.  Unlike me, my brother likes wandering around. And oh, he likes SPONGE BOB..!!:D

My another brother. His name is Godwin R. Tolledo. He was born on July 05, 2005. He and my sister often fight..also.. He studies at Hope Baptist Academy of Iloilo (my former school). Even though they often fight with my sister, they get together easily.

Lastly, my sister, Fleur Michelle R. Tolledo. She was born on January 06, 2007. It was 'Three Kings' when she was born so my father decided to name her after one of the kings--Melchor. This little sister  of mine is a cry-baby and kinda brat. Well, because she's the youngest in the family..
