Jordan Romero-youngest person to reached Mt. Everest

A 13-year-old boy, Jordan David Romero of California, United States reached the peak of the world's highest mountain-Mt. Everest last May 22, 2010. He surpass the previous record holder, Temba Tsheri, a 16-year-old boy from Nepal. He reached the Everest's summit together with a group of mountaineers including Apa, a Nepalese Sherpa, who broke his own record by climbing Mt. Everest for the 20th time. The country of Nepal does not allow anyone below 16 years of age to climb Mt. Everest due to the dangers they might encounter; so Jordan Romero along with his team-Paul Romero (his father) and Karen Lundgren (step-mother) climbed from the Chinese side of the mountain.
